Does Your Workspace Fit You?

Karen Evers, RKin, our registered Kinesiologist, has recently been certified in Office Ergonomics. She is available to come to your home office or work office to give you recommendations to make your workstation work optimally for you. Musculoskeletal conditions can be improved and prevented by an ergonomically set up work area. The visit will include on the spot recommendations and a comprehensive report to keep or give to your employer. Contact the Niagara or Fort Erie locations to book your office assessment.

Outdoor Fun is Great for Child Development 🙂

Here are some tips from physiotherapist, Tania Mannella PT, DPT on how to reap the benefits of outdoor fun while building strength in kids at any age.

RUN AROUND IN BARE FEET - Walking barefoot stimulates little muscles in the foot and helps to build strength and stability for little ones and they don’t even realize they are doing it!

CLIMBING - Climbing anything (with safety of course) is a fantastic way to build strength in childrens’ lower and upper body. This can range from trees, to jungle gyms, to backyard playgrounds or even just at the neighborhood park. Allowing your child to climb up and down builds motor coordination as well as strength, all while having fun!

SWIMMING - Anytime a pool, lake or beach is available to you, allow kids to explore the water safely because they are stimulating muscles, walking on the uneven surfaces and activating their cardio fitness while enjoying the summer sun (don’t forget the sunscreen!!).

Please contact our Fort Erie or Niagara Clinic if you have any questions 🙂
We hope everyone has a safe and fun summer with family and friends!
