What to Expect on Your First Massage Therapy Visit

We recommend coming to your appointment 10 to 15 minutes early to fill out some paperwork. Our massage therapist will take you in to the treatment room where you will discuss your health history and massage preferences. Once your treatment goals are discussed the RMT will leave the room so you can disrobe and get on the treatment table and under the sheets.

The massage therapist is trained to position the sheets to protect your privacy. Only the body part being worked on will be exposed. The massage therapists will ask you during treatment if the pressure feels okay. You are also encouraged to communicate to the therapist about the pressure or any discomfort so the therapist can adjust the treatment.

The massage therapist will inform you when the treatment is over and then leave the room so you can get dressed. When you’re ready the RMT will come back in the room to recommend things you can do at home to help with your treatment and also recommend a follow up treatment plan. This is also a great time to ask any questions or concerns you may have.
