At Fortius, we love working with children - it can be exciting, challenging and enriching. We have many years of experience working with infants, children and adolescents. In addition to physiotherapy skills our physiotherapists have an excellent understanding of the developmental process of childhood, primitive reflex patterns, pediatric illnesses and disabilities. It is very important that the children feel very comfortable at Fortius, continue to be reassured during their treatments and receive a positive experience where trust and support are given.

Our goal is to optimize the child's function based on their individual needs. The physiotherapist will assess and treat muscle tightness, core stability, muscle strength, muscle endurance, postural control, balance and coordination. For babies and young children, treatment sessions are focused on gentle manual work and play based exercise to increase motor skills. Some examples of motor skills include sitting unsupported, crawling, walking, running, jumping and climbing and ball skills. Older children and adolescents will have more structured prescribed exercises to achieve their goals.
