10 Ways to MOVE Your Body
There are numerous ways to move your body. The key is to keep it fun and enjoyable. Fortius Physiotherapy staff loves to see our patients active in any way!! Tania Mannella, DPT wanted to offer you 10 different, FREE activities that involve physical movement, so you can LOVE your body!
1) Walking or Running:
Simple and effective, walking or running at any pace is a great way to get your body moving. You can do it outdoors or on a treadmill. Even if you just park far away from the grocery store or the bank.
2) Cycling:
Riding a bicycle is a low-impact exercise that engages multiple muscle groups and provides cardiovascular benefits.
3) Swimming:
Swimming is a full-body workout that is easy on the joints. It builds strength, endurance, and improves flexibility.
4) Dancing:
Whether you take a dance class, dance at home, or hit the dance floor at a social event, dancing is a fun way to move and exercise. It is a great way to have some fun family time.
5) Yoga:
Yoga combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation. It enhances flexibility, strength, and mental well-being. Yoga can be done at all levels of ability.
6) Weight Training:
Lifting weights or using resistance training equipment helps build muscle strength, tone the body, and improve metabolism. This is doable at any age. We at Fortius can help guide you in the right direction and prevent injury.
7) Hiking:
Exploring nature through hiking not only provides physical activity but also allows you to enjoy the outdoors and breathe in fresh air while you move.
8) Group Fitness Classes:
Joining group classes like aerobics, Zumba, or stretch or spin classes can make exercising more enjoyable and social.
9) Sports:
Engaging in any sport such as tennis, basketball, soccer, or volleyball, pickleball, lawn bowling, golf etc… is a great way to stay active while having fun.
10) Jumping Rope:
A simple and effective cardiovascular exercise, jumping rope improves coordination, endurance, and burns calories.
