Scott Fenwick

PT, HBScPT, CGFL

Scott Fenwick PT, HBScPT, CGFL obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science Degree at Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2000. Scott is a member in good standing with CPA, OPA and past member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists. Scott holds a special interest in sports injuries, manual therapy, orthopaedics and out patient therapy.

Having worked in Scotland for 1 1/2 years, Scott returned to the Niagara Region where he has worked since 2001. While developing his skills in multiple clinics to further his career, Scott was the lead physiotherapist for the Canadian National Soccer team for 6 years. Scott took ownership of his first clinic 2007.

Married with two young daughters, Scott can be found with his family, on the golf course, cycling through the picturesque Niagara Region or training for a Triathlon. Scott is happy to bring his wealth of experience to team with Tania to form the premier Physiotherapy clinic in Niagara.

Christopher Dekker

PT, BPhEd, DPT

Christopher Dekker PT, BPhEd, DPT, is a graduate from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2006, earning his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He practiced in the United States for seven years, spending two years doing homecare throughout Niagara County, NY, and the next five years working in a busy outpatient orthopaedic clinic in Lewiston, NY. He then came back home to the Niagara Region where he spent the next 10 years working at a busy outpatient clinic in St. Catharines. Through his employment, he gained a great deal of experience in rehabilitation of various orthopaedic and neurological pathologies and post operative rehabilitation. He also has experience working with athletes from Niagara University, the US and Swiss Figure skating and Speed Skating Olympic Teams, and professional hockey and lacrosse players.

Christopher is a member in good standing of The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. He is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, the orthopaedic division of the CPA, and the Ontario Physiotherapy Association. Through his professional associations, he has had extensive training in shoulder rehabilitation, vestibular and vertigo rehabilitation, as well as concussion management.

Away from the clinic, Christopher enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter and cheering his children on at soccer or hockey games throughout Ontario.

Karen Evers

BKin, Reg.Kin, OTA & PTA

 
Karen Evers is a Registered Kinesiologist at Fortius Physiotherapy and Wellness. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from Brock University in 2007. In 2012 she obtained her College Diploma in Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant from Niagara College. Karen is a member of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and the Ontario Kinesiologist Association.

Karen is also certified in FMT- Rockblades, soft tissue release, Kin taping, Functional Exercise Prescription and Concussion Management. Outside of the clinic she enjoys keeping active outdoors, going to the gym and enjoying long walks with her dog, Lance!

Riddhi Patel

BSc, MFSc, PT

Riddhi Patel is a dedicated physiotherapist with a BSc in Kinesiology and a Master's in Fitness Science (MFSc) from York University, and an MSc in Physiotherapy from Brighton, UK. Over the past two years, she has been practicing physiotherapy in the UK, treating individuals with a range of chronic and acute conditions, including motor vehicle accidents, across various age groups. Her passion lies in helping individuals achieve optimal health and well-being through meaningful rehabilitation. She focuses on improving pain management, strength, function, and flexibility to enhance her patients' overall quality of life. Before relocating to the UK, Riddhi worked as an exercise physiologist in Toronto, where she specialized in cardiac rehabilitation and occupational health, including fitness testing for firefighters. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing badminton, and hiking.

Danielle Stark

M.OmSc, BScH HK, Neur

 
Danielle is an Ostcan certified Osteopathic Manual Practitioner. She obtained her B.Sc Hons Human Kinetics degree with a minor in Neuroscience from the University of Guelph, and her Masters in Osteopathic Manual Science from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy.

Osteopathic science has a focus on the innate health of the body, aiming to improve the structural function of the body to allow the deeper cellular function within the soft tissues and organ systems to thrive. Utilizing her past experience in athletic therapy, kinesiology, biomechanics research and geriatric physical therapy, Danielle is well equipped to help her patients get to a place where they are physically able to maintain health.

In addition to her academics, Danielle continues to be involved within the dance community as a choreographer across the GTA. She is also an avid snowboarder, runner, beach enthusiast, and lover of all animals big and small.

Brett Storr

M.OMSc, R. Ac

Brett is from Sarnia, Ontario, and graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, obtaining his diploma in Osteopathic Manual Therapy (M.OMSc), as well as continuing his studies at the Canadian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to become a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) where he previously served as part of the faculty.

Before pursuing his studies, Brett competed at a high level in track and field, as well as junior hockey, which led him to work as an on-ice skills instructor and trainer with players from the minor to pro levels. Utilizing the opportunities in front, Brett has had the privilege of working with and training alongside some of the top therapists in their given fields.

In his off time, you can find Brett sailing, working the tree farm, and training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro; all fueled by his love for coffee. Brett is very excited to add his services to the Fortius Physiotherapy team and looks forward to helping you on your path back to balance.

John Van-Herbert

Osteopathic Manual Practitioner

John Van-Herbert is British trained Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, and a member of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO) as well as the UK regulatory body; General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). He received his Masters of Osteopathy from the European School of Osteopathy in England in 2013. He received the Clinical Student of the Year award at his graduation. John has also completed his ITEC Sports Therapy training in 2009. He has been practicing Osteopathy for 7 years and Manual Therapy for 11 years.

John has a wide range of experience in multiple facets of manual therapy, including family practice, pre and post natal, paediatric and will admit he has a huge interest in sports injuries and working with top athletes to weekend warriors.

He utilizes a wide range of techniques to help with a multitude of ailments and takes pride in his communication of what’s happening with the body and how to try to get to the root cause. Osteopathy considers the body as a whole and should be treated as such for long lasting results.

He continues to study, participate in CPD (Continued Professional Development) and is always trying to improve himself as a practitioner.

Away from work he has a wife and young son, and loves all North American sports taking a keen interest in hockey since moving out here. John helps provide osteopathic care to the Niagara IceDogs when required and plays in a couple of recreational leagues.

Dawson Poczciwinski

Massage Therapist

Dawson is a recent graduate from Fanshawe Colleges Massage Therapy Program and if a local of Crystal Beach and Fort Erie.  Through out the course of the program Dawson has enriched his knowledge and understanding of treating many different conditions and is now applying it to his own practice. He can apply his knowledge from the program to help treat and sooth many different conditions either it being in the form of frozen shoulder, TMJD issues, Golfers/tennis elbow. Dawson also has many orthopedic tests to help you figure out what is causing your pain. He is also well versed in deep tissue and relaxation massage if that is what you are interested in.

In Dawson’s free time you can find him enjoying the sun on Crystal Beach, riding his bike around town or reading up different clinical findings in upcoming research to help his clients.

Erin Tyler

Erin is a Niagara College Culinary graduate who took an explorative interest in pastry and the fruitful bounty of the Niagara Region. In a taste test adventure Erin explored Canada gaining respect and cultural understanding with every bite. Now living on the family hobby farm; Erin, with husband and 3 children, once again calls Niagara home. Building a diverse and ever expanding curriculum vitae, Erin has chosen a life of Love, Health, Growth, Respect and Adventure while promoting the importance of Diet and Rest. As a member of the Fortius team, Erin is excited to guide you in the direction of individualized therapeutic care.
